For your application to be complete and reviewed by the visa office, you must provide the following documents.
- Valid passport: we recommend that your passport be valid for a duration of 10 years if you wish the be granted a 10-year Canadian visa;
- Proof of financial establishment: this consists of your proof of employment and income, business documents, tax declarations, etc. This requirement does not apply if you qualify for the CAN+ program;
- Proof of travel: this can be demonstrated mainly using your current and previous passports. You can also include other supporting documents such as e-visa approvals;
- Application forms: all IRCC application forms for the Canadian tourist visa must be completed and signed by each applicant;
- Proof of payment: this is a receipt issued when you complete your payment online on the IRCC website.
Do I have to provide biometrics information?
Yes. Once the processing office receives your application for your Canadian tourist visa, you will receive a ‘biometrics Instruction Letter’ sent to you by email. IRCC will instruct you to go to the Canada Visa Application Center (VAC) to provide your digital fingerprints and photo.
How much does the 10 Year Canadian visa cost?
There are two fees attached that applicants must pay to apply for a Canada visa: the 10-year Canadian visa fee and the biometrics collection fee. See the following examples:
The 10-year Canadian visa fees:
- Visa fee – single applicant: CAD$100.00
- Visa fee – family rate: CAD $500.00 maximum
The biometrics collection fees:
- biometrics fee – per person: CAD $85.00
- biometrics – per family (2 or more people): CAD $170.00

How long will my application for a Canadian tourist visa take to process?
On average, an application for a Canadian Tourist Visa will be processed in approximately 4 weeks. However, the processing times may vary depending on:
- Application volumes at the visa office at the time of your application;
- If you require a medical examination (for the super visa class, for example);
- You delay completing your biometrics collection;
- Outside factors such as a global pandemic;
- You have a criminal record.
