With its diverse culture and stunning natural landscapes, New Brunswick is increasingly attracting the attention of people around the world who are seeking opportunities to immigrate and build a new life. In this article, let’s explore the latest information about these promising New Brunswick immigration programs with Phan Immigration.

Introduction to New Brunswick Province

  • New Brunswick is a coastal province with an area of approximately 71,000 km² located on the eastern shore of Canada. The province boasts beautiful natural landscapes and a unique culture.
  • The landscape is diverse, blending European-style towns with modern urban areas.
  • The climate is distinctly divided into four seasons: warm summers with temperatures ranging from 20–30°C, and cold winters with an average temperature of around -5°C. It is the only province in Canada that officially uses both English and French. About 30% of the population speaks French, while the remaining residents use English.
  • The three major cities playing key roles in the economy are Saint John, Fredericton (the capital), and Moncton.

To promote economic and community development, the province has launched several immigration programs to attract:

  • Skilled international workers
  • International students who wish to stay and work long-term after graduation

These open policies provide many opportunities for those looking to build a stable career and life in Canada, especially in New Brunswick, which offers a high quality of life and is in need of more labor force.

New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Reopens

The streams under the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) have reopened in 2025, with several significant changes to each program. The New Brunswick immigration program has been adjusted to better align with the overall changes in Canada’s immigration system. These adjustments ensure that the programs are properly oriented to effectively meet the province’s critical labor needs and priorities.

Starting from February 5, 2025, New Brunswick will gradually reopen the provincial immigration pathways in a controlled manner. Notably, two programs stand out: the New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream and the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream.

New Brunswick Skilled Worker Program

Currently, the INB portal is experiencing unusually high traffic, which is affecting the system’s performance. The IT department is working hard to resolve the issue and stabilize the situation.

Note: Applications submitted under the Skilled Worker stream will not be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, Expressions of Interest (EOI) submitted through INB will be placed in a waiting list and will remain valid for 365 days.

New Brunswick’s immigration department will review the submitted EOIs and will only send Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates selected through scheduled rounds of selection, starting next month.

The New Brunswick Skilled Worker Program is now accepting new EOIs. Before submitting your EOI, please carefully review the updated criteria and the list of restricted NOC codes for your chosen pathway. Only submit an EOI if you meet all the program requirements.

Additionally, starting from 2025, this program has undergone changes compared to previous years and is now divided into three separate pathways:

  • New Brunswick Experience Pathway
  • New Brunswick Graduates Pathway
  • New Brunswick Priority Occupations Pathway

Please review each pathway carefully to determine which one fits your profile.

Currently, the province will not consider occupations under the following NOCs:

  • Accounting technicians and bookkeepers (NOC 12200)
  • Administrative assistants (NOC 13110)
  • Retail and wholesale managers (NOC 60020)
  • Restaurant and food service managers (NOC 60030)
  • Retail sales supervisors (NOC 62010)
  • Food service supervisors (NOC 62020)
  • Chefs (NOC 63200)
  • Bakers (NOC 63202)

New Brunswick Express Entry Stream

The New Brunswick Express Entry Program will begin accepting new Expressions of Interest (EOI) in the coming weeks through the following two pathways:

  • Employment in New Brunswick Pathway
  • New Brunswick Interests Pathway

Additionally, the New Brunswick Student Connection Pathway will not be available in 2025. However, eligible graduates from New Brunswick with a valid job or job offer may still apply through the Employment in New Brunswick pathway under the Express Entry Program.

Candidates may also consider other available programs such as:

  • New Brunswick Skilled Worker
  • New Brunswick Strategic Initiative (for French-speaking candidates)
  • Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)
